Hi everyone! It’s been some time since I’ve dedicated a blog post to something other than shopping– hence the holiday season. So I wanted to give a brief update.
Can I be honest with you all . . . ? Being a blogger, influencer, content creator are all very fun BUT it can also be challenging, tiring, and time consuming. So many other important things consume our time in a day that any allotted free time I have is so precious to me. I don’t know about you all but I prefer to spend my free time with my family. This alone can make being heavily involved on social media a very hard thing to do for someone like myself.
Like most, I find life too short and this past weekend I was reminded of this simple fact. Its one of the main reasons my husband and I make every effort to visit both sides of our families on a weekly basis, together. Being able to live in the same city as our parents and siblings is by far one of our biggest blessings and we do not take it for granted! I say this all to say, I put my family first and when I yearn to be in their presence I act quickly and fulfill that yearning as best I can. I hope and pray the same for each of you because family truly is EVERYTHING. Love on your people . . . Be there for your people . . . Create memories with your people.
Now, I don’t want you to confuse my transparency for ungratefulness. Without a doubt, I am where I am supposed to be with Milk It Honey and I am extremely grateful. Neither am I complaining because I asked for this. I am just being transparent by sharing my current thoughts and realizations as a fairly new blogger, influencer, and content creator.
There are days when many of the requirements to keep afloat are exhausting, repetitive, and as mentioned before, time consuming. There are days the content I spent hours creating and finally share receives very little engagement. That alone can be discouraging. If you aren’t already aware, engagement matters to us. Then there are days when I use a simple iPhone picture and real life caption and BOOM– I am reminded that I am doing something right! I can appreciate that there are far more rewarding days than not.
As interesting of a playing field this all has been, I am here for the challenge. One of my current short-term goals is to land my first paid brand collaboration or partnership. Several opportunities have surfaced but the brands were not of interest or not fitting for my niche. My brand and my followers matter to me so my decisions weigh heavy on those two key things. In due time, I’ll be celebrating this goal achievement! I’m claiming it and milking it, honey!
I find times like these to be motivating and inspiring because greatness comes out of hard-work and passion! The dreadful hurdles and unforeseen hiccups eventually become a thing in the past! With the support that I have, I know that theres only one way this will go, Up!
