5 Helpful Tips To Revamp Your Mommy Wardrobe

If you know me, then you know I LOVE to dress up and get cute! That didn’t change after having Isaiah, however, I did find myself slowly adjusting my wardrobe to fit my new role as a mom. That new role looks a lot like getting vomited/peed/pooped on, greasy/saucy hand prints, snot and buggers, chasing/wrestling, rolling in grass, and some days, sitting down peacefully eating ice cream and sing baby shark. Because I am now 2 years in on this momma journey, I figured it was time to share 5 helpful tips to revamp your mommy wardrobe. If you’re not a mom, that’s okay. This can be useful for you too! Enjoy!

  1. Wedges, sneakers, + sandals: After 20 + years, I have done my fair share in heels and reserve them for special occasions (see pic at the end of this post). Wedges are my preferred heel of choice as it offers the support my body needs, some elegance, and just enough height. My feet and ankles just don’t support me like they used to lol. I love a crisp white pair of sneakers which pair with just about anything in my closet. My favorite pair are these from Olympus Footwear. They are VERY WELL DESIGNED, comfortable, and can be styled with dresses, shorts, jeans, etc,. Lastly, Sandals are a must in Houston so I recently ordered these ( woven sandals, gold sandals, nude sandals, blue sandals, green sandals )from Zara and I have so far found them to be comfy and easy to style. Here’s inspo here and here.
  2. Plain or Graphic T-shirts: T-shirts have been the easiest to style my new mom body. Breastfeeding Isaiah meant inflated and deflated breasts frequently and daily so stretchy materials were best. As my body continued to transition, I found t-shirts to be most comfortable and complimented my figure. To spice it up a bit, I would tie a front knot to my t-shirt and BAM! I’d look like a new woman and my outfit reached a new level. It’s still one of my favorites to do today. For inspiration, check out this post and my t-shirt collection and how I styled them here.
  3. High waisted bottoms: Everything high-waisted has always been flattering on my figure, even after having Isaiah! I am not the biggest fan of girdles, and if you can’t already tell, comfort is key for me. The girth support in high-waisted bottoms helped suck everything with my new mom body (here and here) . Plus, when wearing high-waisted bottoms I don’t have to worry about my underwear being visible to the public while chasing or wrestling with my toddler.
  4. Statement Necklaces +Studs: I like to keep my accessories very simple! A nice pair of studs and a statement necklace are my go to. My current favorite necklace is this one from Made by Mary. I have linked below some of my current favorite earrings and necklaces.
  5. Headbands + Hats: Some days, a bun and a headband is all I have the energy for. Other days, a slick bun and a hat will be just fine. Either one works magic on a good or bad hair day. Check out how I style headbands here and hats here. Lastly, here are a few of my favorite comfortable and stylish hair accessories I recommend.
